when burke wants a player, he gets a player. I think Nash will be in Toronto and he will over pay to land him.

Burkes job is on thin ice. Do you think he is ready to overpay once more and become the most laughed at GM in Leafs history.

I'm not sure I buy that he's on thin ice. That team cares about making money and that's all they care about. Burke does that and deflects from the crap ownership of the team. I see him getting at least two more years

Does he not have a 5 year contract? I think next year is his last year.

The media hate him
The fans hate him and most improtantly Don Cherry hates him.

If they take back salary from Toronto, why move Lu???? Really? Very simple. Not only do they have a budding #1 in Schneider which is what gives them the luxury of shopping Luongo in the first place. but because Lu has 10 years left on that contract. If they take back, let's say, Mike Komisarek, that's only two years commitment at $800k less per year. Makes sense to me

It only makes sense if there are no takers for Lu. Again Leafs will be sitting trying to dictate a trade in which they have No Hand .Seriously that is why no one trades with them. You want a top 15 goalie and want to give back crap.

That's only because Calgary and Anaheim have given us false hope that we can fleece anybody.

'Roberto is still, in many people’s opinion, a top 15 goalie in the league.'

I'd like someone to name me 10 better goalies in the league than Luongo, that have been proven for more than just a season.

Dave Nonis was asked this year "Who is the best goalie in the league?" .Without batting an eye he said Roberto Luongo.

We laugh at his contract but GMs know it is a 6 year 40 mil contract. A 39 year old goalie is still capapble of playing.

Don't forget about this one: "The Rangers sent Gomez, forward Tom Pyatt and defenseman Mike Busto to the Canadiens in exchange for forward Chris Higgins and defensemen Doug Janik, Ryan McDonagh and Pavel Valentenko."

Komi is not going anywhere. Sorry, but you are not trading Komisarek for Luongo.

The deal I think the Leafs could make is

- Kadri
- Schenn
- 2nd
for

- Luongo
- 1 st

Honestly, I think that is a real possibility. People seem to forget the Leafs were in a playoff position before falling off a cliff in February. They are not as far off people want to tag them as being. That being said, I'm still not sure Luongo is the answer. We all know how Burke hates long front-loaded contracts.

Yeah, I was thinking about that deal yesterday watching the NYR/WSH game. What a dumb move. It was dumb at the time and even dumber now.

Are you serious???? Who is going to give up a young defenseman, a top prospect and a 2nd round pick for a late 1st rounder and a 33-year-old goalie with a NMC in a contract that has 10 years left and a $5.3 million cap hit??? Come on. I know you're a Sens fan but even you can see how ridiculous that is.

I have no interest in Malone, id rather keep Luongo. Drag this one out and get what we need this off season. A top 2 defenceman and top 6 winger. Free up capspace, and give weber an offer sheet. Yes, im serious. With a tighter budget, bring up Schroeder or even Jensen. Gotta take a chance on these kids, look at Couturier(sp?)
